Here is some updated information to guide you in preparation for your attendance in the 36th WFD RSA and the 14th WFD RSA Youth Section Representative Meeting in Yogyakarta from 15 to 18 August 2024. The WASLI Asian Interpreters’ meeting is also being held at the same time.

Welcome Message from WASLI Asia

First of all, we'd like to warmly welcome each one of you to the Asian Interpreters' Meeting on August 16th and 17th, 2024, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Traditionally, we hold the meeting after the WASLI conference, in collaboration with the WFD Regional Secretariat for Asia and Youth Section.

As one of your WASLI Asia Regional Representatives, I am thrilled to say that the Interpreters' Meeting in Thailand in 2018 was a fantastic event. We will continue discussing interpreters' issues and developments to keep us all updated.

We are incredibly excited to have you at this year’s interpreters’ meeting! This is a golden opportunity for us to learn from one another and grow together. We eagerly encourage you to begin planning your trip to this upcoming event. Please ensure you bring something valuable related to interpreting development to share with us.

  • Entrusting Forms are extended and submitted on 30 June 2024 (FREE registration for OM and YOM delegates only).
  • Then, the registration forms will be sent via email.
  • The deadline is on 3 July 2024 at 23:59 (UTC +7).

For Observers, there are three categories:

  • Full observers costs USD 300; including all
  • Partial observers costs USD 150; for access to two-day meetings and meals and snacks only
  • Entry Ticket only costs USD 75 (access to two-day meetings and dinner on 17 August 2024 only).

All observers will meet the OC for further arrangement on transportation. If you would like to go by yourself, see Transportation.

Dear all sign interpreters,
The registration form for the in-person interpreter’s meeting was closed, but WASLI Asia is glad to have a hybrid for 16 and 17 August 2024 via Zoom Meeting. This is the registration for online participants, https://forms.gle/5zBtF7MxgACsWYba8

There will have two packages to choose; USD25 for two days or USD15 for one day only (sender bears the transfer fee). The last deadline is on 10 August 2024, 23:59 (UTC+7).
The zoom links will be sent 3 days (13 August 2024) before the event starts.

Visa Information

When you arrive, find the immigration for foreigner and apply Visa on Arrival (VoA), so you need to prepare Rp. 500.000 for paying VoA on the spot after your arrival in the Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). No visa requirement for ASEAN countries.

    Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) is the airport in Yogyakarta. After clear in immigration, you can claim your baggage and fill up the softcopy customs declaration by scanning the QR code standing in the terminal, or you can click this link : ecd.beacukai.go.id/. Then, save the QR to scan in the custom clearance.

  • Arrival Information 2

    Please find the sign as shown below to find us in the exit door on your arrival day, 15 August 2024. There is only one exit door. Once you arrive, please show your passport and the invitation card with the QR code to our OC.

    There will have the OC to standby in the exit door of the arrival hall and then we will guide you to ride on the YIA Train Express to the city for 39 minutes.

    After you arrive in the Station Tugu Yogyakarta, you can find us as well using the same sign above and then we will drop you to the meeting venue.

Medical Information

There is a small clinic nearby, but we encourage you to bring your own medicine and health insurance. Since Indonesia is a tropical country, please apply sunscreen with SPF 50+ PA+++ and anti-mosquitos lotion to your face and body. For diet restriction, please state your food allergy in the registration form later.

All transportation can use Indonesian Rupiah cash and credit card.

11th WFD RSA Youth Camp

One of the objectives of the RSA Youth Camp is to give Deaf youth an opportunity to meet other Deaf youth from other Asian countries, and to exchange experiences, languages, and cultures. In this environment, participants can learn about international issues with tolerance and appreciation for all cultures.

This year, the IAWDYS is honored to be trusted as the host of the 11th WFD RSA Youth Camp. In addition, some Deaf speakers will be invited to talk about a range of topics syncing to the theme, SEWELAS - which means eleven in Javanese and stands for Signing Enthusiastically, We Learn, Adjust, and Socialize.

The 11th WFD RSA Youth Camp will be held from 11th August to 16th August 2024 in Kaliurang, Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The registration is closed, but you can attend the Representative Meetings which are held from 15 to 18 August 2024.

The pick-up and drop-off of campers at airport/station:
